Workshop Session Introduction
Visual Computing for Ophthalmology is an emerging field that combines computer vision, image processing, and machine learning to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. The goal of this workshop is to bring together researchers and practitioners from the fields of visual computing and ophthalmology to discuss the latest advances in technology and their potential applications in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of eye diseases. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
- Automated diagnosis of eye diseases using imaging data
- Segmentation and registration of ophthalmic images
- Detection and tracking of ocular landmarks
- Virtual and augmented reality for ophthalmology
- Deep learning for ophthalmology applications
- Visualization techniques for ophthalmic data

The accepted papers will be included either in the CGI conference Proceedings published by LNCS, Springer, or in the VRIH journal (Virtual Reality and Intelligent Hardware journal published by Science Press).
Note that for ALL submissions, the review process is double blind, which requires the paper and all supplemental materials to be anonymous. Ensure that self-referencing is anonymous (refer to your full name rather than “I” or “we”). Avoid providing information that may identify the authors in the acknowledgements (e.g. co-workers and grant IDs) and in the supplemental material (e.g. titles in the movies, or attached papers). Avoid providing links to websites that identify the authors. Violation of any of these guidelines will lead to rejection without review.
- For all papers calls, please submit 8-12 pages.
- A template for the full paper submission is available at Microsoft Word and Latex.
- Papers should be submitted in PDF format. This PDF paper should NOT contain any name or affiliation (blind paper).
- You may include videos in MP4, WMV and AVI format. For multiple videos, please use zip file. Please note that there is a maximum file size of 40 MB per submission.
- IMPORTANT: Please indicate your preference in the right track in EasyChair.
- Chairs will make the final decision on which paper goes in the LNCS or VRIH.

Accepted papers must be registered by at least one author as FULL CONFERENCE (one registration covers one paper).
