Following this, she joined the team of Prof. Alain Berthoz at Collège de France for a postdoctoral internship. She also obtained a certification from the Executive Education Data Science Starter Program at École Polytechnique. In 2008, Lydia joined the CNRS as a Research Engineer at the Brain Institute, where she was involved in multiple projects related to the structural and functional studies of the normal and pathological human brain. She developed and implemented a toolbox for multivariate statistical analysis of MEG-EEG signals. She also specialized in Multiple Factor Analysis and Partial Least Squares techniques to analyze and characterize the underlying structures of multimodal brain imaging large datasets.

THE PRESENTATION

Title: Computational Modeling and Multimodal Neuroimaging Approaches to Investigate Brain Dynamics

Abstract: This work presents three independent, yet interconnected neuroimaging studies aimed at advancing our understanding of brain dynamics and disease. In the first project, we use magnetoencephalography (MEG) to assess neurophysiological responses to radiofrequency electromagnetic field (RF-EMF) exposure. The second project explores the use of Partial Least Squares Path Modeling (PLS-PM) combined with structural MRI to investigate the progression of Parkinson’s disease. Lastly, in the third project, we show how the use of Multiple Factor Analysis (MFA) and structural MRI can discriminate variants of atypical Parkinsonian disorders.

THE INTERVIEW

Dr. Lydia Yahia Cherif – CNRS-Brain Institute -Hôpital Pitié Salpêtrière, France Bio: Lydia is a Research Engineer at CNRS-Brain Institute -Hôpital Pitié Salpêtrière (and Académie des Technologies).
